HUONE: PINK TWINS / PARAMETRONOMICON

EMMA has opened a new media art space Huone equipped with new generation technology. The first art work to be shown is Parametronomicon created by Pink Twins in 2014. The art work belongs to Saastamoinen Foundation Art Collection and it will be on display from March 29th to August 20th, 2017.

Parametronomicon is an abstract computer animation with subject matters that simultaneously appear organic and mechanical. The combinations and layers of changing elements create the tension of a controlled chaos.

Pink Twins is an artist duo of two brothers, Juha (b. 1978) and Vesa Vehviläinen (b. 1974), whose works discuss the limits of human perception.

HUONE

A high-spec media space with an immersive sound system and 4K projection system for displaying works from the Saastamoinen Foundation Art Collection.

The 4K laser projector in Huone can play uncompressed 4K image. Sound produced with 17 main speakers and two subwoofers gives the audience a full-body experience. The technical systems in Room are built in collaboration with Genelec, Bright Finland, Picturall and Vertics.

The fall season will feature three media art works from the Saastamoinen Foundation Art Collection that have been voted in by the public. Voting has been closed. The opening of the audience curated media programme will be celebrated on Friday 25th August from 6 pm. onward.
