The collection of Lars-Gunnar Nordström (b. 1924), has been hailed as a classic artist of concretism. L-G Nordström Art Collection comprises a hundred works, including paintings, sculptures and graphics, and was deposited at EMMA in 2011. Nordström is regarded as one of the earliest and consistent pioneers of non-figurative art in Finland. The collection deposited at EMMA represents a full chronological arc of the artist’s oeuvre.

Osmo Valtosen taidekokoelma
The collection of Osmo Valtonen (1929–2002), was donated to EMMA in 2008. Valtonen was one of the residents of the Nallenpolku artists’ studios. Comprising nearly 300 works, the collection includes works of kinetic art, the sand-drawing devices, for which Valtonen is best known, as well as paintings, drawings, graphics and archival material.

There are more than 8,000 works in total in EMMA’s collections. More than five hundred of these are continuously on display at the museum’s own exhibitions or on loan in other art museums, and more than one thousand are placed in the City of Espoo office premises and institutions as well as parks and other public spaces.
