EMMA Talks is an ongoing series of lectures and discussions about subjects pertaining to the current exhibitions. EMMA Talks highlights themes relating to the society and human life with the help of art phenomena. EMMA Talks is geared towards adults and youth who are interested in art and want to be educated and take part in conversation.
The programme has a contemporary focus on Joseph Beuys’ Outside the Box and Olafur Eliasson’s Pentagonal landscapes. EMMA Talks discusses what contemporary art is and how it was born in relation to subjects important to Eliasson and Beuys, such as public participation, the environment, spatial thinking and architecture.
EMMA Talks throws light on top contemporary artist Olafur Eliasson’s experiential works and their effectiveness. The talks will also cover how the iconic artist of the 20th century Joseph Beuys challenged the concept of art with his socially involved art thus taking part in the birth of contemporary art.
Participation is included in the museum´s admission fee. Free entrance for students.
